KEEPERS: A Timeless Novella (Coming Soon!)
Hey Lovely Fans,
For those of you who are new to the Timeless world, I wanted to say: WELCOME. Also, I know that the release date for FALLEN LEGION was supposed to be in 2011. This obviously didn’t go as planned. When I first set that release date, it was at the beginning of 2011. Since then, I have dealt with sickness, a flood or two, deaths of three important people in my life (May, September, & October), part of my house burning down (and it is STILL under construction), and traveling (which included 5 countries and 25 U.S. states). To say I had a rough and busy year in 2011 would be the understatement of the century. Therefore, as you guessed it, two of my novels that were set to release in 2011 did not. This would be FORSAKEN HARBOR (Summer Chronicles, #2–set to release February 15th, 2012 [just a few days away!]) and FALLEN LEGION (Timeless, #4–now set to be released later this year).
Have no fear, my lovely fans, for you won’t have to wait that long to dive into the next Timeless story. I am currently writing a novella titled KEEPERS. I will do my best to have it available at all the major bookstores as an ebook before the end of March (yes, this year!). I hope to release the cover in the coming week, so come back soon to see it. Until then, here is a quick summary of KEEPERS (Timeless, #3.5):
After the battle in Italy, Joseph tries to live a normal life, but that’s just not in the cards for him. He’s engaged to the Illuminator’s sister Jenna, has a Fallen Angel bodyguard, and plans on adopting the cutest five year old anyone’s ever seen. If that isn’t enough to keep anyone busy, now Joseph’s home is under attack by reporters and protestors. After a frightening incident that leaves his house in ashes, he decides he’s had enough. Joseph’s ready to begin his life, but he can’t until the threat of the Empyrean Guard is neutralized. It’s war.
YAY! Isn’t that exciting? Add it to your Goodreads account!
Until next time . . .

How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire Review
How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire by Kerrelyn Sparks
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
HOW TO MARRY A MILLIONAIRE VAMPIRE. It was the title that made me want to read this book. I had hoped it would be different than what it was, and therefore my rating might be lower than I would have originally given. When you go into a book with expectations–expectations, I might add, that were given to me by the title alone–and you finish the book wondering why the hell things were totally different in the novel . . . well, you end up being disappointed. As I am.
I thought this would be more of a comedy and less of a harlequin romance. Don’t get me wrong, this book had it’s moments where I was laughing out loud (especially a scene where the MC, Shanna, thought that Roman, the love interest and vampire, was dead instead of sleeping), but overall I found myself wanting to gag at the way Roman was acting. There was no spark between these characters for me. Though Shanna wasn’t a hateable MC, she didn’t exactly have qualities that explained why Roman would fall for her and vice versa. I actually thought there was more spark between Shanna at the Highlanders, who I very much enjoyed. They were my favorite characters in the whole book, and their humor was a relief in the otherwise dull romance between the two MCs.
On another note, some of the lines were almost identical to ones I read in TWILIGHT. While I don’t like to compare one novel to another, it really bothered me. The thing is, this book actually came out a few months before TWILIGHT did. I’m sure it’s all a coincidence, but it still bugged the hell out of me. And it’s not really relevant to my review, but I am curious to know if anyone else noticed this. (Side note: I enjoyed the lines in TWILIGHT better, where they didn’t seem so cheesy for some reason.)
Also, the conflict in this novel was different than others I have read in this genre. However, the resolution at the end of the book was abrupt and not very fulfilling. And, to be honest, it seemed a little OOC for the villain to just accept his fate and the terms negotiated between him and Roman. Though how the villain died was satisfactory considering what an ass he was.
And lastly, no one got married in this book. It’s talked about, but there is no marriage. There really isn’t a proposal. Oh, and if I have to read Roman calling Shanna “sweetness” one more time, I’m going to gouge my eyes out with a fork. Just sayin’. If you are one for cheesy romances, this is the book for you.
