KEEPERS: A Timeless Novella (Coming Soon!)

Hey Lovely Fans,

For those of you who are new to the Timeless world, I wanted to say: WELCOME. Also, I know that the release date for FALLEN LEGION was supposed to be in 2011. This obviously didn’t go as planned. When I first set that release date, it was at the beginning of 2011. Since then, I have dealt with sickness, a flood or two, deaths of three important people in my life (May, September, & October), part of my house burning down (and it is STILL under construction), and traveling (which included 5 countries and 25 U.S. states). To say I had a rough and busy year in 2011 would be the understatement of the century. Therefore, as you guessed it, two of my novels that were set to release in 2011 did not. This would be FORSAKEN HARBOR (Summer Chronicles, #2–set to release February 15th, 2012 [just a few days away!]) and FALLEN LEGION (Timeless, #4–now set to be released later this year).

Have no fear, my lovely fans, for you won’t have to wait that long to dive into the next Timeless story. I am currently writing a novella titled KEEPERS. I will do my best to have it available at all the major bookstores as an ebook before the end of March (yes, this year!). I hope to release the cover in the coming week, so come back soon to see it. Until then, here is a quick summary of KEEPERS (Timeless, #3.5):

After the battle in Italy, Joseph tries to live a normal life, but that’s just not in the cards for him. He’s engaged to the Illuminator’s sister Jenna, has a Fallen Angel bodyguard, and plans on adopting the cutest five year old anyone’s ever seen. If that isn’t enough to keep anyone busy, now Joseph’s home is under attack by reporters and protestors. After a frightening incident that leaves his house in ashes, he decides he’s had enough. Joseph’s ready to begin his life, but he can’t until the threat of the Empyrean Guard is neutralized. It’s war.

YAY! Isn’t that exciting? Add it to your Goodreads account!

Until next time . . .

Fires & Audiobooks & Screenplays, Oh My!

Hey everyone!

I know it has been a long time since I’ve posted anything on my website, and I want to apologize for that. For my fans that follow me on Facebook or Twitter, you might have read that part of my house burned down. To put it simply: my neighbor’s house caught fire due to a weed eater and went up in flames so fast and was so hot our house’s siding literally melted. Then it caught on fire from the decking to the top of our roof. Luckily our house was saved, but moving in and out, construction, and planning has put me behind on all things writing and business. It doesn’t look too bad in the photo, but with heat, smoke, and water damage, we’ll be replacing all floors and ceilings in our house. Yay. To top it off, there was another death in my family, which makes for a total of three deaths, a flood, and a fire in the past year. Not that I’m bitter or anything. ;-)

Have no fear, my wonderful readers! Good news is near! That’s right, I said “good news.” Phantom Universe, book one in the Summer Chronicles, went through production with Audible for audio and is finished. The narrator, Karen Savage, did a brilliant job of bringing my characters and story alive. I’m thrilled with the outcome. It will be available through Audible.com, Amazon.com, & iTunes (hopefully) within the week. I’ll post links as soon it goes live.

Phantom Universe Summary:

Sold into slavery to pirates at the young age of four, Summer learns to survive the rough seas of subterfuge and thieves through silence. When the boat she’s lived on most of her life is destroyed, Summer finds herself washed up on the shore of a new world, a phantom universe full of the bizarre and extraordinary. She meets Gage, the one boy who understands the girl with no speech. But when their lives are put on the line, will Summer finally call out? Or will all be lost in the fathomless depth of silence?

Onto other news: The screenplay for Shadow of the Sun, book one in the Timeless series, is finished. It was written by Henry Rudolph, and he has done a fantastic job of taking it from book to script. Right now we are in the editing stages. There needs to be cuts and changes so it is the right length for a film. Though many authors hate the editing process, I have a feeling this will be my chance to get down to the bones of the story. As soon as that’s done, we’ll pitch it to some producers and see if we can get a bite.

Lastly, there’s been a setback in release dates due to the fire. With everything going on, I decided it would be best to work on fixing my house first. It’s where I write and do my business, therefore it has become a priority. Forsaken Harbor, book two in the Summer Chronicles, has been delayed. I don’t want to put a date on it to just move it again, but I hope to have it out on shelves by February 2012. I know it’s a big change, but I want to continue to give you the quality of writing I always have. Rushing it and slopping it together is not my style. Fallen Legion, book four in the Timeless series, will also move from winter 2011 to spring 2012. In the mean time, Shadow of the Sun will be going through production with Audible for audio. The narrator is (drum roll please) Tavia Gilbert, an award-winning narrator who has been on my radar for quite some time. When I envisioned (or the equivalent for listening) someone reading for this series, she was the first that came to mind. I’m excited and pleased she has accepted to narrate Shadow of the Sun. The plan is for an October production, so maybe a November or December release. I’ll keep you updated.

Wow, see what happens when I don’t post for a few months? Speaking of that: be prepared for blogging to resume! Yehaw, Laura is back.
